Kevin Jacovetta Memorial

On October 3rd, 2025, the Arvada Fire Protection District honored the life and service of firefighter Kevin ” KJ” Jacovetta, with a funeral service at the Storyline Church. The procession departed with many apparatus at Arvada Station 53 to the church by motorcade with the community lining the route to pay their respects. Jacovetta served over 33 years with the department when he joined as an volunteer in 1988, was hired as a full-time, career firefighter in 1999, and held the roles of firefighter/EMT, engineer, and acting officer throughout his career. In 2011, while rescuing a fellow firefighter during a devastating house fire, which both firefighters were severely burned and both were transported to the hospital. Kevin earned the departments’ Medal of Valor for his bravery. Although he courageously recovered and returned to duty, complications from his injuries eventually led to his retirement in 2021. He was diagnosed with cancer in 2023 and passed peacefully away at 61 years-old on September 19th, 2025. His passing was marked as a Line of Duty Death – Illness (LODD-I). Kevin was born to his loving parents Mary and Ronald Jacovetta, on January 25th, 1964, survived by his wife Julie, daughters Amber and Brittany, son in law Jaron Finn, and his three grandsons: Ayden Schreiter, Jay Schreiter, and Kash Finn. He also leaves behind one brother, Kenneth Jacovetta, and two sisters, Karen Carroll-Jacovetta and Kathleen Jacovetta.
