West Metro Fatal Fire

On July 11th, 2025 at 19:16 West Metro Fire Rescue was alert of a possible structure fire in the 1700 block of Cody St. in Lakewood after several 911 callers reported a fire at a duplex. Engine 1 arrived to light smoke showing from a small single-story duplex and pulled a 1 3/4 for fire attack in the offensive strategy. Engine 3 secured the water supply to Engine 1. Engine 1 reported that a body of a single occupant was found deceased inside and the fire was out. District 1 arrived and assumed command on the Alpha side and the rest of the response was cancelled. No other injuries were reported. No other details are expected to be released at this time as this incident is an active death investigation.
