On May 31st, 2025 around 01:15 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Berthoud Fire Protection District and Thompson Valley EMS responded a vehicle into a house on E. 23rd St. with initial reports of the occupants of the house trapped inside. Dispatch then was advised by Loveland Police officers that everyone was evacuated from the house. Paramedic 311 arrived with a truck into the structure and followed up by Engine 45 arriving to a single-story residential with a confirmed gas line rupture. Paramedic 311 evaluated the occupants of the house and the truck for injuries. A significant natural gas leak from the house prompted evacuations of neighboring homes. The gas leak was not able to be controlled, fire crews positioned fire attack hose lines and secured a water supply from a fire hydrant as a precaution. Xcel responded with an emergency response team to secure the gas by digging up the line and clamping it off, this process took several hours. Information provided by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority
