West Metro C-470 MVA

On January 23rd, 2025 at 15:06 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a MVA with vehicle onto ice at C-470 east of Morrison Rd. exit ramp. Crews arrived on scene to a single-vehicle that had left the highway, rolled onto its right side and came to rest on the frozen surface of Soda West Reservoir Number 1 in Bear Creek Lake Park. The vehicle received extensive damage, but did not drop through the ice, and an oil spill was mitigated. The driver did not receive major injuries, but was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation. Traffic was diverted into the two left lanes and the scene was secured by Lakewood Police Department. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
