South Metro Plane Crash

On September 5th, 2025 at approximately 06:20 South Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported aircraft emergency at the Flexential Denver-Englewood Data Center, 8636 S. Peoria St. in Douglas County outside of the Centennial Airport. Units arrived on scene to find that a small plane had crashed and caught on fire between two large transformers behind the building. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and neutralized hazards. Two people on board the plane died in the crash. No injuries were reported on the ground. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
