Upper Pine River Barn Fire

At 02:00 on May 22nd, 2024, the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District was dispatched to La Plata County Rd. 2 for a possible structure fire. On scene fire crews discovered a barn on fire and requested mutual-aid from Los Pinos Fire Protection District and Durango Fire Protection District. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and prevented it from spreading to adjacent structures. Additional information provided by the Upper Pine River Fire Protection District.
