Lakewood Structure Fire

On May 11th, 2025 at 17:53 West Metro Fire Rescue responded to a possible structure fire in the 1000 block of S. Harlan Way in Lakewood. Engine 7 arrived to a working fire from a single-story single-family and pulled a line in for fire attack with Medic 7 and secured their own water supply. Engine 1 started the primary search with Tower 8. Engine 8 assigned as RIT and Medic 8 as medical. District 2 arrived and assumed command in the offensive strategy. Crews got the fire quickly contained to a back bedroom and started overhaul and the investigation. The family was home at the time, but a working fire alarm alerted them to what was happening and they were able to escape without injury. Due to smoke and water damage in other areas of the home, the family was displaced. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Additional information provided by West Metro Fire Rescue
