Westminster Garage Fire

On May 2nd, 2025 at 03:25 Westminster Fire Department and North Metro Fire Rescue District responded to a residential structure fire in the 9000 block of Cody Ct. Medic 3 arrived to a active structure fire with an attached garage fully engulfed and the home evacuated. Engine 5 arrived shorty after to a small one-story single-story residents with a working fire with flames and smoke from the Bravo side and pulled a 1 3/4 attack line for fire control. Battalion 1 arrived on scene and assumed command in the offensive strategy and assigned Engine 3 with forcible entry to the garage door. Engine 2 secured the water supply to Engine 5, Truck 2 with the primary search and Medic 2 as medical. The fire was put under control at 03:48 and was contained to the garage area and did not spread to the rest of the house. The residents of the home were able to self-evacuate and no injuries were reported. While their working smoke alarms activated when smoke reached the living areas, it was their dog who first alerted them to the fire early in the incident. The fire cause is under investigation.
