
Aurora East Colfax Ave Brush Fire
Aurora 2nd Alarm Brush Fire
At approximately 15:20 on March 13th, 2026 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire in the area off E. Colfax Ave at I-225 off the Toll Gate Creek. Due to a Red Flag Warning and the increased risk for rapid fire spread, a 2nd alarm vegetation response was dispatched. When crews arrived on scene they found a one quarter acre brush fire and quickly got to work extinguishing the fire. Crews quickly stop the forward progression of the fire at approximately one-half acre, keeping it contained and bringing it under control quickly. No structures were threatened or damaged, and no injuries were reported. Crews remained on scene to fully extinguish any remaining hot spots and continued monitoring the area throughout the evening to ensure no flare-ups occurred.
