Aurora Kitchen Fire

On January 22nd, 2026 at 10:43 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to a reported structure fire in the 14000 block of E. Ellsworth Ave. Aurora 911 advised that several callers and smoke showing in an apartment building and Battalion 2 upgraded the call to working structure fire. Engine 9 arrived to a four-story multi-family apartment building with nothing showing and started the investigation and secured their own water supply. Crews found a kitchen fire on the 2nd floor and started fire attack. Ladder 2 started the primary search and Battalion 2 arrived and assumed command. The fire was put under control quickly and contained to the kitchen with no extension into the rest of the unit. All primary and secondary searches have were completed and were negative. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries have been reported. Additional information provided by Aurora Fire Rescue
