Aurora Residential Structure Fire

On March 28th, 2026 at approximately 06:00 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 2200 block of N. Lansing St. The homeowner was awakened by their smoke alarms and discovered smoke and fire in their home. They quickly evacuated the residence prior to firefighters arrival. Engine 1 was first to arrive on scene and found heavy fire and smoke showing from the front windows. Engine 1 upgraded the incident to a working structure fire. Crews initiated fast attack and had water on the fire and the fire under control in less than 10 minutes of arriving on scene. All searches of the residence were clear and negative. Two residents were evaluated on scene and taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The fire caused major damage to the home and the two residents have been displaced.
