Aurora Residential Structure Fire
At 22:07 on August 28th, 2026 Aurora Fire Rescue responded to the 700 block of N. Zion St. on a report of a structure fire. Engine 2 arrived first on scene and observed a single-family residential structure with smoke showing. They quickly initiated fire attack after securing their own water supply. Ladder 2 arrived on scene and initiated a primary search and 360 of the home. While doing the 360, they located heavy fire on the back side of the home. Ladder 5 arrived on scene and went to the roof to help with ventilation. While conducting fire attack, Engine 2 located heavy fire in several parts of the home. The fire extended outside and caused significant damage to the home as well. The incident was placed under control within approximately 15 minutes. No injuries occurred from this fire, and the cause is currently under investigation. Four residents were displaced and are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
