Aurora Working Kitchen Fire
Around 18:40 on February 4th, 2026 Aurora Fire Rescue was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 400 block of S. Lima Circle. Engine 4 arrived to a two-story single-family residential with flames and smoke showing from the Charlie side, pulled 1 3/4 into the front door for fire attack and the call was upgraded to a working structure fire. Ladder 2 with primary search and Engine 2 secured the water supply. Crews found a kitchen fire with extension to the attic space and Ladder 8 went to the roof. Battalion 2 arrived and assumed South Lima command. All searches of the home were clear, and the fire was placed under control just 17 minutes after the initial 911 call. The cause of the fire was a accidental kitchen fire related to cooking. No injuries in the fire and the American Red Cross was requested for assistance.
