
Broomfield West 120th Ave Structure Fire
North Metro Church Fire
At approximately 09:22 on August 7th, 2026 North Metro Fire Rescue District and Westminster Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 6995 W. 120th Ave. in Broomfield. Engine 61 arrived to a decorative vegetation fire on the Charlie side in the courtyard that was extending into the building and pulled a line in for fire attack. Battalion 61 arrived and assumed command with a working fire and fire showing from the ridgeline midsection of the church and requested a major incident tone. Engine 65 arrived and assigned to a pulled a 2nd line from Engine 61 inside the structure for fire control from the Alpha side and Medic 64 with medical. Engine 68 worked on utilities and pulled additional line to the Alpha side. Truck 2 set-up their aerial and command requested additional truck to the scene. Truck 62 arrived and set-up for aerial ops on the northside of the structure. Crews worked on smoldering fire in the attic space before getting the fire under control and out at 11:16 and then crews worked on an extended overhaul on hot spots. The fire was determined to be accidental and was caused by the misuse of a blowtorch while burning weeds. No injuries were reported. The building sustained smoke, fire, and water damage. No injuries were reported and westbound W. 120th Ave. was shut down during the incident. Additional information provided by North Metro Fire Rescue District
