Denver 5th Alarm Fire Investigation

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ National Response Team (ATF) was called to assist Denver Fire Department investigators with the January 2nd, 2026 five-alarm fire at Leetsdale Drive and S. Forest St. in Denver. Crews were on scene most of the day January 7th, 2026, working to determine the cause of the fire. The NRT consists of special agents, certified fire investigators, explosive specialists, fire protection engineers, forensic chemists, intelligence research specialists, digital forensic specialists, medics and explosive detection canines. Since its inception in 1978, the team has responded to 943 incidents.
