On June 6th, 2026 the Denver Fire Department Station 23 located in the Westwood neighborhood celebrated 75 years of service with current and retired members, families, friends, and community members. They all joined together with the generations of firefighters and neighbors to share stories, memories, and laughter which was a powerful reminder of what makes Station 23 a special place through the years. Station 23 was opened in 1951 when the area of Westwood was annexed by the City of Denver. The area was protected by the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department before being taken over by the Denver Fire Department. Additional information provided by Denver Fire Department
