All hurdles have been cleared for the Evergreen Fire Protection District Station 2 remodel, located at 1802 Bergen Parkway, in Evergreen. Construction has started, with trenches being dug, utilities being laid in some of those trenches, and the concrete foundation pour took place on May 28th, 2026. It’s estimated that construction will take 10-12 months for completion. The fire trucks and ambulances will remain in active service from the station during construction. Crews have been moved into the administration building, where they have access to a kitchen and have temporary sleeping rooms and office space. The administration building remains open for business during construction. The remodel and expansion will consist of a remodeled dispatch center, expansion of crew sleeping quarters, increased gear storage, sleeping rooms for both paid crew and volunteer firefighters or Med Techs on overnight shifts, increased office space for shift captains and senior officer, enlarged kitchen/dining areas, sprinkler system and an on-site fitness room.
