Golden Gate Slash Day

On June 6th, 2026 the Golden Gate Fire Protection District held a their Golden Gate Slash Day at the Golden Gate Grange Community Center with volunteers on hand. Residents in the area were welcomed to bring tree trimmings to the location and the have them run through a chipper, at $20 per load. Golden Gate Fire Protection District covers an estimated 450 addresses, in nearly a 50 square mile area. Fire crews were grateful for the voluntary assistance of the Golden and the Jefferson County Sheriff Wildland Fire Management, and a chipper loaned to them for the day.
