On June 13th, 2026 the 40th annual Mile High Hook & Ladder Fire Muster was held in downtown Littleton featuring the famous annual parade and the fire muster. The fire apparatus parade made it’s way down Littleton Blvd. to the Arapahoe Community College where the fire muster was held. South Metro Fire Rescue’s Chief John Curtis commenced the muster with his opening remarks. Out of the 32 venders and organizations, several venders provided tasty food and treats, while others provided fire safety education and some free items for the kids. Highlights included live vehicle extrication demonstrations, a fire sprinkler burn trailer, drone demo and interactive activities for the whole family including Smokey Bear. Sara and her family won the 5280Fire ‘Fire Monkey’ mascot giveaway and “Fire Monkey” was transported to hand delivered to the new owners later that afternoon.
