South Metro Engine 17 Accident

On February 12th, 2026 at 08:56 South Metro Fire Rescue Engine 17 was involved in a motor vehicle accident in the 8700 block of S. University Blvd. in Highlands Ranch while responding emergent to a medical call. Battalion 1 arrived on scene to a two-vehicle MVA involving Engine 17. No civilians were injured, but two firefighters were evaluated at a local hospital. The accident is under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
