Swink Structure Fire
At 06:01 on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, the La Junta Fire Department was dispatched to402 Holly Ln in Swink for a reported structure fire. On scene, crews reported heavy fire and smoke coming from the home and garage. Crews began an aggressive offensive fire attack and a primary search of the home. All responders exercised extreme caution on scene as the rate of spread was increased due to propane bottles venting into the home and garage. Fire started showing through the roof so crews inside pulled ceilings throughout the house to make sure of full extinguishment. Extensive salvage and overhaul was performed for full extinguishment of fire throughout the property. The two occupants were transported by ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated out for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation Additional information provided by the La Junta Fire Department.
