West Metro Vehicle Fire

On March 23rd, 2026 at 15:09 West Metro Fire Rescue. was dispatched to a vehicle fire on S. Simms St. at W. Belleview Ave. Engine 12 arrived to a single-vehicle in the eastbound number 2 lane with flames and smoke visible. After firefighters knocked down the flames, they attempted to use a roof-hook prybar and halligan to open the hood to extinguish the flames but were proven to be ineffective. A ratchet and socket were used instead and were successful, as to complete the extinguishment. All westbound traffic on W. Belleview Ave. was diverted to northbound S. Simms St. via the Maverik property. No injuries were reported.
