2nd Alarm House Fire

At 13:02 on December 9th, 2012 Poudre Fire Authority responded to a house fire at 3829 Platte Dr. Engine 4 arrived they found a two-story, wood-frame, single-family dwelling with the entire exterior south wall ablaze. The fire had already spread to a fence, was working its way into the attic and threatening the neighboring home to the south. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire on the exterior, then attacked it from the inside by tearing out the ceiling and walls in a bedroom to apply water. The fire was brought under control in about 15 minutes. Fire damage was limited mostly to the south wall and structural members in the attic and side wall area. There was some water damage to the surrounding bedroom and garage area, and light smoke damage throughout the residence. Additional information provided by Poudre Fire Authority
