Westminster House Fire

On August 11th, 2012 Westminster Fire Department was alerted to a confirmed structure fire at 7171 Berthoud St. The home owner reported a back porch awning on fire and growing rapidly. Crews arrived and went into fast attack mode and got the fire quickly under control with minimum extension into the house. Command reported positive smoke from all eves of the house with possible fire in the attic. Crews reported no serious fire conditions inside the home and conducted overhaul. The fire started when a part of the awning got onto a barbecue grill.
