Southwest Adams County Fire Protection District

Southwest Adams County Fire Protection District (SACFPD / SWAC) , founded in 1946 and covered 10 square miles in Adams & Jefferson Counties (Colorado) including the cities and areas of Arvada, Baker Reservoir, Berkeley Gardens, Clear Lake, Copland Lake, East Hidden Lake, Fairview, Gorden Lake, Hodgkins, Lake Sangraco, Mobile Gardens, Ranum, Shaw Heights, Walter Long Reservoir, Valley View & Westminster. Southwest Adams County Fire Protection District was a member of the Tri-County Volunteer Firemen’s Association.

Southwest Adams County Fire Protection District was founded in 1946. In 2003, SWAC began operating  its own fire-based ALS ambulances with two medic units. In 1999, SWAC became a paid fire department.

Southwest Adams County Fire Protection District merged with North Washington Fire Rescue (Colorado) to form Adams County Fire Rescue (Colorado) in 2015.
