Fort Collins 2nd Alarm Mayday

At 00:46 on September 22nd, 2013 Poudre Fire Authority was alerted to a structure fire in the 1900 block of E. Lincoln Ave. in Fort Collins. Fort Collins 911 received a report of smoke coming from the building and a first alarm assignment was dispatched. Engine 6 arrived to smoke coming from the western most unit in the building. Crews worked to extinguish the fire and it was eventually upgraded to a second alarm. During the fire attack, 2 firefighters were injured when they fell from a loft area in the business. A Mayday was called by one of the crew members and they were quickly located and removed from the structure by other firefighters. One of the firefighters was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries and the other was treated and released on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
