Fatso’s Diner Fire

At 16:43 on March 17th, 2013 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to a commercial structure fire at the Fatso’s Diner 1606 W. Eisenhower Blvd. with auto-aid from Berthoud Fire Protection District and Poudre Fire Authority. Crews arrived to heavy black smoke from the roof vents, and crews made entry for fire attack from the front door. Crews found a stubborn fire in the basement area and crews cut holes in the floor to attack the fire from above. A 2nd alarm was struck, and two water supplies were established on Hwy. 34, which was closed in both directions during the fire. The fire was put under control shortly after the 2nd alarm.
