On October 6th, 2013 Summit County Communications was alerted to a careless driver who had left the 7-11 at 741 N Summit Blvd. with the gas pump still attached to the vehicle causing a moderate amount of fuel to spill around the pump. Lake Dillon Fire Rescue Haz-Mat 2 arrived, and was able to mitigate the spill without incident. Motorists were able to alert the careless driver of the situation, and was able to return to the gas station where the pump was reattached.
