Wheat Ridge Commercial Fire

At 21:18 on February 1st, 2014 Arvada Fire Protection District was alerted to a possible commercial structure fire in the 9600 block of W. 44th Ave in Wheat Ridge. Wheat Ridge Police Department was first on scene and reported black smoke showing from the roof. Engine 52 arrived to light smoke showing from a medium size commercial building and positioned on the Bravo side, and laid in a line across W. 44th Ave at Independence St. Truck 56 assigned as roof ops and worked on making access on the Charlie side of the building. Crews gained entry inside of the structure and found an oil burning furnace that was the cause of the incident with no hazards.
