Arvada Garage Fire

On August 6th, 2015 at 15:54 Arvada Fire Protection District was alerted to a confirmed garage fire in the 6900 block of Upham St. A 911 caller reported hearing a loud explosion in the garage with smoke and flames showing. While responding Battalion 51 advised that smoke was showing from W. 80th Ave. & Wadsworth Blvd. Rescue 54 arrived to a working garage fire involving a trailer, and pulled a 2 1/2 pre-connect for fire attack. Engine 55 established a water supply to Rescue 54. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command, assigned Engine 51 to pull a 2nd line in from Rescue 54 and to check the attic for extension. Crews were able to get control with minor extension into the living area, and all searched proved negative. The fire cause is under investigation and no injuries reported.
