Around 18:30 on June 27th, 2015 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to boat that was on fire at the Boyd Lake State Park. Crews arrived at the marina with two fully involved boats, and crews got the fire quickly extinguished. The boat was just being launched from the dock, when the boat started smoking before it caught fire, bystanders rushed over to help try to extinguish the fire. The boat started to drift towards fuel tanks and a marina employee jumped into the marina staff shuttle boat, which was a dinghy and pushed the boat away from the marina as it headed for 2 large tanks of gas. The employee was able to get the boat deflected away but the dinghy also caught on fire, both boats were destroyed. Two people suffered minor burns but were not transported to a hospital. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but may be the result of a mechanical failure. Additional information provided by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority
