Wheat Ridge Attic Fire

At 16:52 on August 9th, 2015 Arvada Fire Protection District was alerted to a possible structure fire at 9270 W. 45th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. 911 caller reporting all occupants were out, and one party with burns to the hand. Engine 52 arrived and found smoke showing from a two-story duplex with a confirmed working fire, and secured their own water supply. Engine 52 started a positive pressure attack an the offensive strategy. Engine 51 arrived and pulled a 1 3/4 off Engine 52 to the Delta side, and made entry. Truck 56 assigned as primary search, and checked for extension in the attic of the exposure unit. Battalion 51 arrived and assumed command and remained in the offensive. Crews worked fire in the attic, and got control and out at 17:15. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
