Wheat Ridge Apartment Fire

 At 11:35 on August 30th, 2017 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a confirmed structure fire at the Caesar Square Apartments at 9335 W. 48th Ave. in Wheat Ridge. Dispatch advised that they were receiving multiple 911 calls and Wheat Ridge Police on scene reporting heavy black smoke showing from the north side of the building. Medic 56 arrived to a working fire in a 2-story apartment building; Engine 52 arrived to heavy black smoke showing from the 2nd floor, offensive mode and started a transitional attack. Support 51 arrived and assumed command, Engine 51 established a water supply to Engine 52 from the hydrant at 49th Ave & Garrison St. Tower 56 was assigned to a primary search of the other units on the 2nd floor, Engine 55 assigned to utilities and primary search on the first floor units. Engine 52 reported to command that the fire was put out in the fire unit with no extension in the attic, and the fire was placed under control at 11:51. Crews worked an extended overhaul, no reported injuries and the fire is under investigation.
