Grand Junction Working Structure Fire

At 18:43 on June 15th, 2017 Grand Junction Fire Department Battalion 1 and companies were dispatched for a working structure fire in the area of 23 ½ Road and G Road. Smoke was visible enroute. Multiple calls were made to the dispatch center, several passerby’s and several RP’s from Community Hospital across the street. Truck 3 arrived at 18:51 to a single story structure and motorhome with a working fire, smoke and flames from the roof and windows. Ambulance 2 was second in and tied in for fire attack with Truck 3. Truck 3 pulled an 1 ¾” handline for initial attack and requested second in engine to pull a second line. Engine 1 grabbed water supply from the south side of G-Road and stretched across. Ambulance 3 staged for Medical, Battalion 1 arrived and assumed G Road Command from Truck 3. Knockdown was declared at 19:35 and operations were moved to offensive. There were no utilities for the building. An additional Engine was dispatched to the scene to assist in overhaul. An investigator was requested, the cause is unknown and no injuries were reported.
