Littleton Attic Fire
At 15:17 on April 8th, 2017 Littleton Fire Rescue were dispatched to a residential structure fire at 5566 West Hinsdale Place. A 911 caller reported seeing flames from the roof a home. First arriving Battalion 10 sized up a small two story single family home with a working fire in the attic and assumed command. Engine 19 laid in from the hydrant at Hinsdale Ave. and Hinsdale Place, then stretched a 1.75” line to the alpha side front door for fire control and primary search. Engine 16 pulled a back up line off of Engine 19, Medic 11 assisted interior and Ladder 12 set up for aerial operations, if needed. Battalion 1 assisted Command with accountability and SAM 10 was assigned to incident safety. Engine 19 quickly knocked the attic fire but their line was unable to reach the roof fire. Engine 16 used their back up line to knock down the shingles and adjacent pine tree that was involved. All searches proved negative, no injuries occurred and an investigator was called to the scene.
