West Metro Duplex Fire
At 10:30 on July 3rd, 2017 West Metro Fire Rescue were dispatched to a confirmed residential structure fire at 3685 Lewis Street in Wheat Ridge. Company 16 arrived to a single story duplex with dark smoke showing from the roof, with evacuations in progress from Wheat Ridge Police Department. Engine 16 pulled a line in for fire attack and primary search with Medic 16, Engine 17 set up at the hydrant on W. 37th Place & Lee Street. District 1 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Tower 2 ladder and egress. Engine 2 pulled a second line off Engine 16. Medic 3 arrived as Medical and Engine 2 as RIT. Engine 16 advised that room and content fire that may have extended to the attic and to the 3695 address, Tower 2 started vertical ventilation on the Charlie-Delta corner. Tower 8 arrived and assigned to assist Engine 16 and Medic 16 pulling ceiling, Engine 3 checked the attic in both units. An all clear was called at 10:45 and fire under control at 10:52. Command advised that an extended overhaul, and request the rehab unit to the scene. No injuries occurred and the fire is under investigation.
