Wheat Ridge Barn Fire

Around 13:00 on March 3rd, 2017 Arvada Fire Protection District responded to a barn on fire at 4365 Garland St. in Wheat Ridge. Dispatch advised that a 911 caller was reporting flames through the roof near propane tanks. Medic 52 arrived to a 2-story barn with flames from the roof and Engine 52 started fire attack. Engine 51 established a water supply and then assisted with fire attack along with Engine 53 and Tower 56; Support 51 arrived and assumed command. Crews advised the roof was weak and an evacuation tone was given to back out of the structure, with a transition to defensive ops. The fire was placed under control at 13:32, no injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
