Collbran Wildland Fire

At Approximately 12:46 on August 25th, 2018 Plateau Valley Fire Protection District was dispatched to a wildland fire west of 54313 Highway 330 in Collbran. Initial reports indicated smoke and flames in the area on the north and was quickly confirmed to be a working structure fire with vegetation involved. The call was re-paged as a working structure fire with an updated address of 54210 Hwy. 330. First due unit sized up a single mobile home fully involved with exposures and went for initial attack. Mutual aid was requested from DeBeque for a brush unit to assist in wildland operations. Palisade Fire was mutual aided for a tender for water supply operations for multiple apparatus. A third updated address came in as 54072 Highway 330. Highway 330 was closed for approximately 2 hours while crews secured the south side of the fire.
