Elk Run Pile Burns

Crews from Colorado River Fire Rescue on December 1st, 2018 spent the day in winter conditions lighting off 6 fuel piles as part of an on-going fuel mitigation project between homeowners and the fire district. The piles were located in the Elk Run area above New Castle and lasted throughout the day. 7 personnel participated between the Wildland Team, On-Duty engine company and personnel on their time off. Crews will continue burning piles throughout the year.
