At approximately 10:00 on November 14th, 2018 Weld County Regional Communications Center dispatched out Greeley Fire Department to a reported house on fire with a person in a wheel chair still inside. Upon arrival of the first units found a split-level ranch style house with a working fire in an upstairs bedroom.  Crews quickly deployed hose lines and extinguished the fire and searched for trapped victims.  All searches of the house were completed with no occupants in the home.  All the homes occupants were able to exit under their own power prior to arrival of the fire department.  The fire damage was limited to one bedroom with moderate to minor smoke damage to the rest of the house.  Greeley Fire Department responded with 4 Engines, 2 Ladders, 1 Battalion Chief, 1 Ambulance (Banner Paramedics) and 3 additional Staff Officers. There were four occupants displaced from the fire and are being cared for by the Red Cross.  Greeley Fire Department investigators determined the cause of the fire to be  due to faulty wiring in an electrical outlet.  The Greeley Fire Department reminds all citizens to ensure they have working smoke alarms in their homes.
