On July 23rd, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue crews were busy with several storm related calls from the heavy rain in Lakewood and in the Metro area including a flash flood in the 100 block of Union Blvd. that disabled a few vehicles. The high water left drivers stranded in their vehicles, crews and Lakewood Police Department were able to successfully get everyone out where some vehicles had water over the hood at one point. Another water call was dispatched at Meadowlark Dr. & W. 2nd Ave. where water flooded over into nearby streets, houses and Meadowlark Park, no injuries were reported with any of these calls.
