Lakewood Trailer Fire
At 00:35 on March 25th, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue was alerted to a possible commercial structure fire at 1450 S. Wadsworth Blvd at the Goodwill Store in Lakewood. Engine 7 arrived to a fully involved trailer in the back of the building by the loading docks with exposers. Engine 7 started exterior fire attack with Medic 7, and Engine 8 arrived and established a water supply in the front of the store on Wadsworth. District 2 arrived and assumed Wadsworth command with offensive strategy and life safety. Engine 3 established a water supply to Engine 7, and Rescue 10 assigned as RIT. Engine 1 established FDC, and crews inside report no fire inside the building. Tower 8 started aerial ops with the master stream above the trailer. District 1 worked the Alpha Division on the front with Engine 1, Engine 3, and Medic 1 as medical group. The trailer collapsed and crews started fire attack on the back side of the trailer. Rescue 10 secured the utilities. The fire was put under control at 2:13 and crews worked hot spots and an extended overhaul. The trailer was filled with donated items, and fire sprinklers in the building also helped keep the fire from entering the main building. Northbound Wadsworth Blvd was also closed during the fire from Lakewood Police Department. No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
