Loveland Cut Gas Line

At 13:13 on September 10th, 2018 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority responded to a cut gas line that was “shooting gas into the air” at 5070 Exposition Dr. in Johnstown. Battalion Chief 1 & Engine 6 responded into the scene to assess the situation. Tower 6 blocked the intersection at Thompson Pkwy. and Exposition Dr. Johnstown Police Department blocked roads at Ronald Reagan Blvd. and Exposition Dr, and at Thompson Pkwy. and Tarragon Dr. A construction crew struck a reported 4″ gas line, and Xcel Energy responded to the scene to secure the gas line while fire crews monitored gas levels in nearby occupied structures. Xcel Energy exposed the gas line up and downstream from the strike location and stopped the gas flow. Units cleared the scene at approximately 15:20 with no reported injuries.
