At 14:30 on July 2nd, 2018 Loveland Fire Rescue Authority and Thompson Valley EMS responded to a reported drowning in the 2800 block of North Taft at Lake Loveland shelter #3 by the north swim beach. Chief 2 and TVEMS 341 were on scene within seconds of the page for service and were able to ascertain a last seen location from witnesses. Upon arrival divers entered the water and quickly rescued one victim who was transported to a local hospital. Additional information was provided by Loveland Fire Rescue Authority
