On June 20th, 2018 40 firefighters from 16 departments from all over Colorado were invited to Camp MDA Rocky Mountain to see for themselves how children benefit from the Fill the Boot campaign. Adams County Fire Rescue sent Deputy Chief of Operations Mike Ramos, Lt. Jason Seitz, EMS Officer Michael Kary, Firefighters Nicholas Loper, Benjamin Ramos and Community Outreach Specialist Carlos A. Briano.

It is a great cause. Since 1954, firefighters across the country have been filling those boots with community donations to help the Muscular Dystrophy Association. These funds in turn are used to help fund research to accelerate treatments and cures, to provide care and support for those suffering from degenerative muscle diseases. But a lot of people don’t know that funds also help children attend MDA Camp, a camp specifically designed to allow children with limited mobility the ability to experience summer camp activities.
