Golden Christmas Parade

Golden Fire Department participated in the Olde Golden Christmas Parade in downtown Golden on December 15th, 2018. Kids of all ages enjoyed the parade with Sparky, Buffalo Bill and Santa Claus and much more. The parade featured Golden’s new Fire Chief Alicia Welch with leadership members on the float at the beginning of the parade with key members of the city. Chief Welch served with the Los Angeles Fire Department for 26 years, and took over the for the department when Chief John Bales retired earlier this year. Chief Welch is Golden’s first female fire chief and first full time female fire chief in the Denver metro area, and one of only about 50 fire chiefs across the United States to achieve this top rank.
