Around 12:00 on January 17th, 2018 Pueblo Fire Department was dispatched a water rescue of a dog in the Arkansas River near La Crosse Ave. At first crews had trouble locating the the owner and the dog but located them down a side trail. Firefighters from Engine 1, Truck 1 and Squad 1 were on scene assisting with the rescue. Personnel had to break through the ice in order to get the dog back to the shore. After the dog was retrieved it was given back to the owner and walked out to the parking lot. Photos & Story by Dustin Cox.
