Wellington 72 Fire

At 14:17 on September 7th, 2018 Wellington Fire Protection District was dispatched to a reported brush fire in the area of  County Road 21 & County Road 72, north of Wellington. Brush 2 arrived on scene to 3 acres with flames moving to the north, and started a direct attack along the east flank of the fire from the south to the north. Engine 41 arrived and and attacked the fire on the west flank from the south to the north. Command request a Brush & Tender for mutual-aid from Poudre Fire Authority. Crews worked the fire with a 100% containment at 16:05 with close to 16 acres that burned, crews remained on scene with hot spots until 19:00. No structures or animals were threatened, and the cause is under investigation.
