West Metro Harlan Street Fire

At 7:46 March 6th, 2018 West Metro Fire Rescue was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 1751 Harlan St. in Lakewood, and dispatch advised units enroute that possible trapped parties inside. Crews arrived to a single-story residence with a detached garage, smoke and flames showing, fire through the roof. Engine 1 pulled a 1 ¾” line in for fire attack, Medic 1 assisted the injured party at the front. Engine 16 arrived and established a water supply, and pulled in a line off Engine 1. Medic 11 assigned as Medical, Engine 2 pulled a 2 ½” line in. Tower 2 arrived and started search, and rescued the other party inside. District 1 arrived and assumed command and requested two additional medics to the scene. Crews got the fire under control and started an extended overhaul. Two were transported to local hospitals, one critical condition and one with minor injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
