West Metro Basement Fire

West Metro Fire Rescue on February 27th, 2018 responded to a structure fire at 12822 Wide Acres Rd. in Lakewood. Engine 2 arrived on scene to a single story small to medium duplex with nothing showing with an offensive strategy on the Alpha side. Tower 2 arrived as split crews, search and fire control, pulled a 1 ¾ line in on the Charlie side. Engine 6 established a water supply at Yank St. & Wide Acres with a 5 inch. Engine 2 reported smoke showing from the basement on the Charlie side and Medic 3 assisted with locating the fire. Company 5 arrived and Engine 5 was assigned as RIT and utilities and Medic 5 as Medical. District 1 arrived and assumed command, one party was in need of medical from smoke inhalation in front of the structure, and command request an additional medic to the scene. Crews got the fire under control and started overhaul. No other reported injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation.
